The B.A. (Hons.) in Politics and Governance has two main objectives:

  1. To contribute to the political formation of citizens who are actively engaged in Maltese public life, through political parties, journalism and the social media, local councils, communities, civil society associations, non-governmental organisations and business associations.
  2. To reach out to occupational and social groups for whom politics and governance are central concerns, but who have hitherto been under-represented in the programmes on public policy, public management and public policy leadership.

Recent developments in the course will allow you to study new areas that integrate a local and international understanding. Some of the topics range from political behavioural and Maltese constitutional development, to policy-making in Europe, political leadership and foreign policy and world politics. By the end of the course, you will deliver a dissertation which will contribute original research to existing literature in the respective field chosen.
